For the renovation of the double WRK transport pipeline in the Haarlemmermeer polder, VandeGrijp Rental supplied two parallel bypass pipelines. Each pipeline was 1.8 km long with diameters of 800 mm and 1000 mm. Because both original pipelines were taken out of service simultaneously, the double bypass ensured a continuous water flow. All pipeline sections were thoroughly cleaned before installation. Crane assistance was provided during assembly where necessary.

WRK pumps water from the Lekkanaal near Nieuwegein and, since 1981, also from the IJsselmeer. After an initial purification, WRK pumps the water to the Amsterdam Water Supply Dunes. Waternet uses this water to produce drinking water for Amsterdam and nearby municipalities. WRK also supplies water to large companies in Velsen and to the dunes near Castricum, where PWN extracts drinking water.
